Heat pumps are more in demand than ever before: they supply heat efficiently and are environmentally friendly. Nevertheless, the more popular they become, the more
quickly myths spread concerning their characteristics and operation. In this article, we’re going to straighten things up.

When is central hall ventilation the better choice, and when should decentralised ventilation be used? This neutral comparison by Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Dorenburg looks at
technical aspects, customer benefits and financial considerations.

The purpose of a hall ventilation system is to distribute supply air by means of a controlled and therefore calculable indoor air flow in order to dissipate heat loads
and pollutant loads. There are various types of air guidance system which can perform this task. A design procedure is therefore required which makes it possible to
assess the potential air guidance systems and select the best one for the requirements in question.

Pollution in the working area depends on the air flow concept as well as the type, arrangement and magnitude of the heat loads; beyond that, it depends on the type and
arrangement of the air outlets. For example, pollution levels up to 100% with mixed ventilation can be reduced to below 10% using alternative air flow patterns.

The energy-efficient operation of hall ventilation is insured according to the current view by regulations in the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) and the Energy-related
Products Directive (ErP). They prescribe high requirements on the efficiency of room ventilation equipment. In fact, the actual energy saving starts much earlier,
namely with the selection of the calculation method that is most suitable for the particular requirements on ventilation of a hall.

Access to information, priority setting and proper communication between industries are of key importance for the success of designing systems. We currently have files
at our disposal, which can be used in 3D modeling of these buildings and building systems. This will enhance the design process and ensure a constant flow of
information between all the participants of the process. And that is what BIM (Building Information Modeling) is all about.

If You manage a hospital, hotel or own any heating system read our tips how to avoid Legionella. An improper micro climate with little air filtration can encourage the
growth of a huge amount of contaminants, including the Legionella group.

Climate technology in a production hall has to be able to provide supply air and dissipate heat loads and/or pollutant loads. In principle, air flows can be
transferred in two ways: either mechanically by ventilation and air-conditioning units or without machines by means of free (natural) ventilation using pressure
differences. These pressure differences are created inside the hall by heat released during the production processes (negative pressure) and outside by wind pressure.

Whether you are a tenant or the owner of a property – everybody can heat efficiently. With our hints you can save both energy and money, in that way you can minimize
your ecological footprint and increase the energy efficiency of your household.

The investor's and developer's goal at the beginning of every project is quite obvious: To build or renovate the building using modern technologies. Execution costs
often play a huge role in the decision-making process. However, this innocent idea does not always lead to the expected savings. One such project is the redevelopment
of the historic building in the center of Prague.

Set up annual inspections for your gas boiler by a certified professional – ideally before the heating season begins. A clean and adjusted gas boiler avoids heating
failure and saves energy.

A heating system based on a heat pump is characterised by durability, low maintenance and low operating costs. Eurostat data shows that heating still constitutes a
significant portion of house maintenance costs.

Apartment buildings, hotels and sports facilities often need hot water in great quantities during peak times so that everyone can shower at the same time. What is the
most efficient, environmentally friendly and space-conserving way of providing this hot water?

More than half of all devices today are already equipped with cooling coils. Here, the idea crops up of taking the recirculating air heaters often used for large halls
and using them for cooling. How and under what conditions this is possible? With the rising demands for comfort, the proportion of ventilation...
