Hoval presents the new solar collector UltraSol 2

Hoval presents the new solar collector UltraSol 2

Modular high-performance flat-plate collector allows planners and installers even more flexibility with maximum energy efficiency.

For over 40 years, Hoval has been offering thermal solar collectors that can be combined in a modular way with the heating system. In January 2020, the new UltraSol 2 will follow in the footsteps of the highly innovative UltraSol, which is already well known in the market. The UltraSol 2 is characterised by special flexibility, durability and performance, and fits elegantly into the roof due to its very low overall height.

"The new solar collector UltraSol 2 stands for maximum flexibility. The UltraSol 2 fits perfectly into the heating system thanks to its versatile connection possibilities and the resulting installation options, and the components fit together perfectly. This not only simplifies planning, installation and operation, but also ensures particularly efficient operation. In this way, free solar energy can be optimally used for domestic hot water and space heating," emphasises Kevin Allenspach, Product Manager for Heat Pumps and Solar, Hoval Group.

The use of solar energy is a central concern for Hoval, a company which lives up to its responsibility for energy and the environment. The UltraSol 2 is the ideal, environmentally friendly supplement to a heating system. Thanks to the TopTronic E system control, all components are optimally matched to one another so that the greatest possible output can be harnessed from as little energy as possible.

Flexible installation due to four connections

The UltraSol 2 collector has four connections, made possible by having a heat exchanger in the form of a collector pipe meander. Several collectors, whether vertical or horizontal, can be optimally connected hydraulically. The uniform installation concept ensures flexible and safe attachment regardless of the space required and the location. The solar panels can be flexibly mounted on-roof, in-roof or with a concrete plinth on flat roofs. Due to the low overall height of 65 mm, the solar collectors give a harmonious look to the roof installation.

Durable due to unique production

High-quality materials are used in the UltraSol 2 from Hoval. The collectors are manufactured using the clinch process. In this process, dimensionally stable aluminium sections for the frame are pressed together to form a tight fit, which makes UltraSol 2 particularly corrosion-resistant. This is also ensured by the patented WLT (heat conduction technology) process, which bonds the coated aluminium absorber onto the copper tube heat exchanger. When the collectors are connected to each other, metal-sealing compression fittings ensure permanent tightness of the system.

Efficient heat transfer for high solar yields

With the UltraSol 2, Hoval offers a powerful solar collector. By means of the WLT process, the absorber plate is fully connected to the heat exchanger by means of a special heat conducting plate. This makes the heat transfer even more efficient and even, and the flow through the heat exchanger runs optimally.

The new UltraSol 2 solar collector will be available from all Hoval sales partners from 1 January 2020.
