Hoval strengthens Europe’s heating transition: Subsidiary YADOS opens Green Factory in Germany
Investment of EUR 20 million expands capacities for sustainable heating solutions, climate-friendly production as a foundation for international market growth
Vaduz (Liechtenstein), 6 November 2025: The Hoval Group is further expanding its commitment to sustainable energy technology. Its subsidiary YADOS GmbH has officially inaugurated the third construction phase of its production site in Hoyerswerda, Germany, developing it into an energy-efficient Green Factory.
Among the attendees at the opening ceremony were Peter Frick, long-time Chairman of the Board of Directors and representative of the Hoval shareholder family, Torsten Ruban-Zeh (SPD), Lord Mayor of the City of Hoyerswerda, and Udo Witschas (CDU), District Administrator of the Bautzen district.
Covering an area of 24,000 square metres, the expanded facility sets new standards in the production of efficient system solutions for modern district heating networks. The Hoval Group will invest a total of EUR 20 million in the expansion of the site, thereby supporting the structural transformation in Saxony.
The new production facility boosts manufacturing capacity and paves the way for expanding the workforce from 330 to as many as 600 employees. YADOS already supplies components and systems from Hoyerswerda to more than 50 countries worldwide.
The Green Factory uses an integrated energy concept combining photovoltaics, heat pumps, deep geothermal energy, power-to-heat technology, and a combined heat and power plant (CHP). 1,500 solar modules generate several hundred thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. In addition, 33 geothermal boreholes up to 99 metres deep have been drilled to cover the building’s heating requirements in combination with Hoval heat pump systems. When solar input is low, a CHP plant powered by eco-gas provides heat and electricity. Surplus energy is converted into heat and stored using power-to-heat technology. The goal is to achieve an increasingly CO₂-neutral production process in line with the objectives of the EU Green Deal.
